La Magie was a shop that I had at the top of my list of Bend bakeries to visit. The first time I spotted it, they were closed and I’m pretty sure I left face and hand prints on the window just staring in at the eclectic collection of chandeliers hanging from the tall ceiling and the unique decor. Every time I went to Bend I would think about La Magie, but never had a chance to get back down when they were open.
Finally, on my last trip to Bend, we made it in. Let me tell you, it was well worth the wait….
We ordered the white chocolate raspberry cheesecake, a huge cream puff and a cannoli, which I had heard of but never had. I think I could eat cannoli every day and never get sick of it. Probably a good thing that I don’t have daily access to La Magie.
The building that La Magie is housed in is an older one, and the way they have it decorated is so cozy. I loved the way they used raw wood to make very unique statement walls…
The tall ceilings with decorative trim (possibly original to the building?) and the assortment of chandeliers make La Magie really stand out as one of the best places I’ve found to spend a little time tucked away in a corner with a good book, a nice drink and just about any wonderful thing off their menu.
Located at 945 NW Bond St., La Magie is definitely a must see when you’re in Bend. I’m looking forward to my next visit and the chance to try out their lunch menu. And another cannoli!
